The Trout Trials is LIVE!

Hey cats,

I’ve got something exciting to share today! I’ve been working on a card game called The Trout Trials. It’s a physical game that comes with a game die and heart pieces and a deck of cards. Compete against other cats to be the last one standing! Deal lethal attacks, make legendary defensive plays, mix up decks and cause kitty mayhem. It’s the perfect game for ruining friendships!

I’ve began the process of prototyping. I have a real deck in my hands as I write this! I plan on opening up a Kickstarter for it to get some donations that allow me to send out my first wave of game copies with EXCLUSIVE cards that won’t come with the final version. That’s pretty good incentive to start your deck early!

The game comes with a base deck of 107 cards. 6 Character cards, 100 Playing cards, and 1 Instruction card. It doesn’t come with a lengthy instruction manual… That’s not what we do here! When I first created the concept for this game, I had one goal: make a game a child could pick up and play. The Trout Trials is meant for game-enjoyers of all ages, whether you’re beating your grandmother in a heated 1-on-1 match, or if you’re playing with your college buddies in a large group. The more decks you have, the more players you can add to the heated rivalries!

I’ve got some photos from the three-dimensional world we call home, but also some digital mockups that show the cards off better! These cards look AMAZING in person! Very shiny, very glossy, very crispy. They don’t taste so great though…

I’ll send another blog post when I set up the Kickstarter. As donations come in, I’ll be able to lower the price of the game to make it much more attainable.
